Seduction in the Body of Christ

Has anyone noticed the alarming number of women that seem to be falling into the sin of infidelity at one level or another? I am concerned by the number of women I have come into contact with in the body of Christ that are being "seduced" at one level or another. I have found that often times once the door has been opened through any level of unfaithfulness, the woman often feels "controlled" by an unseen force that she can't seem to break free of. At times, she desperately wants "out" of the relationship yet once she begins to take the steps to break free, she feels powerless to do so. Why is this so?

Most women (and men) do not understand that they have an unseen enemy whose sole purpose is to destroy them. First Timothy 4:1 says that near the end times people will fall away from the faith giving attention to seducing spirits (see the Amplified version). It is my belief that the enemy has unleashed a large amount of seducing spirits to do everything he can to try and seduce the body of Christ into sexual sin. We ultimately make our own choices and have to take ownership of them, however, the enemy is making sure he does everything he can to tempt us so that we will act on the sin!

I do not know if there is any other sin that seems to have the power and control over God's people like sexual sin. For some reason, sexual sin seems to be overpowering us at an alarming rate. Why is the enemy using this particular avenue of temptation? Perhaps it's because our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit and it's the closest way the enemy can get to assaulting God...

How are you doing my dear sister?
I do hope and pray all is well with you and your family. As for me I'm highly favored and truly blessed of the Lord. God is so good and He is worhty of all the praise.

I just want to encourage you in the Lord. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. God said many are the afflictions of the righteous but He will deliver us out of them all. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Always look to the hill for this is where your help comes from. Don't be dismayed for God has not forgotten. He can do anything but fail. He said no good thing He will withhold to them that walk upright before Him.

So my dear sister be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord and know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Your sister in the Lord
Jackie

Hello Sarah,

I totally agree with you. The enemy is playing on people's lonliness and wanting to be needed. Some people have been so hurt that they are looking for love in every place. However, true believers must realize and be encouraged that in the times when those feelings arise, that we have a Savior, who was tested in all points as we are, yet He did not sin. He also reassures us that because of this, we can come boldly before the throne of grace and recieve mercy in the time of need.
